My time at Greenpeace was nothing short of exhilarating. As a content creator, I was tasked with turning raw material provided by

campaigners into compelling press releases in multiple languages, including English, French, and Arabic. But my work went beyond

just writing – I also helped design the organization’s media strategy, ensuring that we had a powerful and effective plan in place to

communicate with journalists and the public.

And it paid off. During my time at Greenpeace, we tackled some of the most urgent environmental issues of our time, including the

FSO SAFER oil tanker in the Yemeni coast and the XELO ship incident in Gabes. With our media strategy and carefully crafted press

releases, we were able to generate significant interest and coverage from the media, both in North Africa and across Europe.

But it wasn’t just about getting media attention – it was about making a difference. And I’m proud to say that our efforts helped to

prevent potential environmental disasters, raise awareness about the urgent need for action, and even secure funding to isolate the

FSO SAFER tanker and prevent an oil spill.

Overall, my experience at Greenpeace was intense, challenging, and incredibly rewarding. I learned so much about the power of

effective communication, the importance of environmental activism, and what it takes to make a real difference in the world.

Digital Communication, graphic design & data analysis

Imagine being part of a team that is dedicated to defending human rights in one of the most challenging regions in the world. That’s exactly

what I experienced when I transitioned from a communication consultant to the MENA Digital Communication Manager at Amnesty

International.

I was tasked with creating a digital communication strategy that would have a real impact on the ground in the MENA region. Using my skills in

Adobe Creative Suite, I worked closely with my team to translate our vision into compelling graphic publications and videos that would engage

our target audience and drive them to take action.

But we didn’t just rely on our creativity alone. We used data analysis to track the performance of our content, constantly refining and tweaking

our strategy to maximize engagement and conversion rates. Through tools like Hoshin Planning and Socialbakers, we were able to see which

content types and topics resonated most with our followers and adjust our approach accordingly.

I used my skills in data analysis to track the performance of the digital communication strategy created for the MENA region. This would

involve implementing a structured approach, such as Hoshin Planning, to track the evolution of the KPIs over time and ensure that the strategy

remained aligned with the organization’s overall goals.

I would have also utilized tools like Socialbakers and social media listening to gather data on audience feedback and engagement rates, which

would help us to identify which content types and topics resonated with our target audience.

By combining data analysis with creative skills like graphic design and content creation, we were able to create compelling and engaging

content that motivated followers to take action, such as signing a petition or making a donation. By constantly monitoring and analyzing data,

we were able to fine-tune the digital communication strategy, ensuring its effectiveness and relevance to the needs and interests of our target

audience. This helped to maximize engagement and conversion rates, ultimately contributing to the defense of human rights in the region.

And the results spoke for themselves. Our content achieved not only high engagement rates but also impressive conversion rates. We were

able to inspire our followers to take real action, from signing petitions to making donations, all in support of defending human rights in the

MENA region.

Content creation

As an experienced communication expert specializing in NGO work, I cannot stress enough the importance of campaigning knowledge.

Without a deep understanding of campaigning, creating effective content is impossible. As a skilled communicator, I understand that our role is

to develop the campaigner’s raw content into powerful messages that will resonate with our intended audience.

Once the campaigner and I have identified the key messages, there are two critical steps that we must take to ensure maximum impact. For

reactive or daily content, I will meticulously draft the press release and validate it with my team before creating captions, TOV, tweets, and

other essential content. It is crucial to maintain a consistent and effective message across all platforms.

In-house graphic design is a must for reactive and daily content. As a communication manager, I possess advanced skills in Adobe Creative,

specifically Photoshop and Illustrator, and access to industry-leading stock photo websites like Shutterstock and Getty Images. Together, we

will develop stunning graphics that capture the audience’s attention and convey our message powerfully.

For large campaigns, we will conduct extensive message testing using various formulas and tones to determine the most effective way to raise

awareness and persuade our audience. With this data, we will create content using the most engaging tone and formula, maximizing the

impact of our campaign.

In conclusion, as a communication expert with years of experience, I am confident in my ability to create compelling campaigns that achieve

maximum impact. By working together, we will create content that will move and inspire our audience to take action.

Event

As a communication consultant for Greenpeace International, I had the incredible opportunity to immerse myself in the world of

climate activism and make a real impact in the fight against climate change. My focus was on the COP 27 and the Greenpeace

Warrior Ship Tour in the region, which was a chance to show the world that we are united in our commitment to a greener future.

My journey began at a climate camp in Tunisia where I had the honor of collaborating with activists from all over the world to

brainstorm on our demands to decision-makers during the COP 27. The experience was eye-opening, and it showed me the power of

collective action and the importance of coming together to fight for a common cause.

In July 2022, I traveled to Barcelona to prepare the strategy and action plan for the ship tour in the Middle East. The work was

challenging but incredibly rewarding, and it gave me the chance to use my skills and knowledge to make a real difference.

I am proud of the work we accomplished during this period, and I believe that we can continue to make a meaningful impact in the

As someone who has managed teams in some of the world’s most challenging environments, I can attest to the power of effective

communication and transparent systems. My experience managing 23 campaign and research teams across 22 countries, including

Iran, while working at a regional NGO gave me the tools to navigate even the most complex challenges.

To achieve success in this high-pressure environment, I created a communication strategy that allowed us to keep all teams informed

about ongoing campaigns and their time requirements. This enabled teams to plan their report publication based on our calendar,

ensuring they had sufficient time to create content for each campaign. As a result, we were able to execute our campaigns with

precision and deliver exceptional results.

I encountered another managerial challenge that required me to develop innovative solutions. The campaigners were slow to provide

information, causing a delay in content creation and publication. To address this issue, we held separate meetings with the campaign

and digital teams, emphasizing the importance of adequate time for content creation and outlining the potential issues that would

arise if content was received late.

We created a document that outlined the time requirements for each department, which improved workflow and allowed us to execute

the successful COP 27 campaign in Egypt. Thanks to these efforts, we were able to achieve our goals and deliver high-quality

content on time.
