As a communication consultant for the RAWSA MENA network, I had the privilege of contributing to a vital cause: advocating for safe access to abortion rights across the MENA region. This role provided me with valuable insights into the challenges faced by feminist organizations and human rights advocates as they work tirelessly to promote reproductive rights in complex sociopolitical contexts.

In this capacity, I enhanced the network’s digital communication efforts by managing social media platforms and the website. My responsibilities included creating and sharing impactful content that highlighted the network’s activities and the broader issue of reproductive rights. These efforts aimed to raise awareness about the negative effects of restrictive policies on women’s health and rights. Additionally, I engaged directly with the community by responding to comments, fostering conversations, and welcoming new members to cultivate a sense of collaboration and solidarity.

My work also involved designing compelling visual materials that showcased the network’s achievements. From developing publications to producing animations for events, I focused on creating visuals that were both informative and emotionally resonant. These efforts aimed to amplify the network’s message and strengthen its advocacy for secure access to reproductive healthcare.

Collaboration was at the heart of my role. I actively participated in weekly team meetings and monthly strategy sessions, where I contributed ideas and helped align our tactics with the network’s overarching goals. I also supported the organization and coordination of both virtual and in-person meetings, ensuring that all required visuals were prepared and distributed effectively.

This experience was deeply enriching, allowing me to combine my passion for advocacy with my professional expertise in communication and design. I am proud of the impact we achieved as a team and remain committed to supporting initiatives that advance reproductive rights in the future.
