Regional Content Manager Amnesty International
My experience as a MENA Digital Communication Manager at Amnesty International was truly impressive and highly challenging. The role demanded a deep understanding of the MENA region’s culture and communication preferences to create a digital communication strategy that aligned with the organization’s global vision. It required a high level of creativity, technical skills, and attention to detail to produce compelling graphic publications and videos to advocate for human rights in the region. My rose to these challenges with proficiency and dedication, utilizing my skills in Adobe Creative Suite to deliver content that achieved exceptional engagement and conversion rates.
As a Regional Content Manager, I play a key role in setting the strategic communications direction for the regional office of Amnesty International. I work closely with the Regional Press Officer and researchers, campaigners, and other regional office colleagues to deliver high-quality, locally relevant communications strategies and materials that support our regional campaign, advocacy, and communication objectives.
One of my main responsibilities is to lead the development of a suite of target sub-regional audiences and provide expert advice on how best to use digital or other channels to target each segment. I also lead communications capacity building for all AI activists in the sub-region, providing training and ongoing support to help them effectively communicate our messages.
I am responsible for developing sub-regional communications initiatives that support collaborations between sections and the regional office, and working with the Press Officer to develop communications strategies that support our fundraising and growth aims. Additionally, I work to ensure all content and social media work contributes to building a consistent digital estate and diminishes audience cannibalization.
I also work to capture and share the innovative work of sections in the sub-region, promoting Amnesty International’s key messages and tone of voice, and building up a pool of sub-regional contacts, freelances, and volunteers to support the production of high-quality materials.
In short, as a Regional Content Manager, I play a crucial role in promoting the work and message of Amnesty International in the sub-region, and in supporting our efforts to improve the state of the world’s human rights.
